He was also cherished by seventeen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, one brother, Commissioner James Holmes (Yvonne) Savannah, GA, two sisters; Mary Simmons, Savannah, GA and Cassie Gray, Augusta, GA, sister-in-law, Bertha Holmes, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
