He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, George Ellison and Nell Ellison; his brothers, Leon and Ronald; his wife Frances Osborn; his children, Allen (Lana), Terrie, Janice (Donny), Debbie (Jack) and Donna (John); his sister Betty; and also, Ruby and Roger. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, cousins, 24 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren.
