He was predeceased by: his parents, Dennie Lee and Ruby Viola Weikle (Eisenbise); his daughter Sandra Murphy; his great grandchild Justin "Chloe" Lacey; and his brothers, Henry, Dale, Earl, Kenneth and Warren.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Weikle; his children, Russell Weikle, Jr. (Debbie) of Rocklin, Karen Essig (Lonnie) of Auburn, Cynthia Stoddard (Richard) of Concord, Steven Weikle of Lodi and David Weikle of Clovis; his grandchildren, Michael Murphy, Allison Murphy, Ryan Murphy, Sean Murphy, Robert Weikle, Joshua Weikle, James Essig, Julie Winkel (Essig), Jennifer Duncan (Stoddard), Jason Stoddard, Emily Weikle, Elisabeth Weikle, Ryan Bridge, Tyler Bridge and Katie Weikle; his great grandchildren, Madison Murphy, Sawyer Winkel, Sophia Murphy, Jase Winkel, Grace Murphy, Oliver Murphy, Annabelle Duncan, Mackenzie Duncan and Isaac Duncan; and his sister Melva Horton (Weikle). He is also survived by his five brothers and one sister.
