He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Chavira and Nellie Alcaron Chavira; and his siblings, Daniel Chavira, Jr., Freddie Chavira, Mary Falcon and Alice Maciel.

He is survived by: his wife Virginia Gallegos Chavira; his daughters, Michelle Ward (Phillip) and Francine Chavira; his siblings, Tommy Chavira (Ramona), Ruben Chavira (Connie), Bobby Chavira (Stella), Michael Chavira (Diane) and Mary Ann Palacios; and his grandchildren, Jayden Chavira, Alannah Ward, Michael Ward, Dominic Ward, Aciannah Chavira and Frankie Joe Chavira.
