He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Antonio Cortez and Inocencia Cortez; his wife Theresa Cortez; and his children, John Cortez Jr. of North Carolina, Anthony Cortez of Fontana, Ted "Beaver" Cortez of Chino, Maria Cortez of Chino, Eddie Cortez and Christina Valencia. He was also cherished by 17 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great, great, grandchild.
