It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Vernon Bruce Byrd Jr. (Chico, California), born in Greenville, Alabama, who passed away on September 9, 2020, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon B. Byrd, Sr. and Naomi Byrd; his former wife Sylvia Bloomfield Byrd; and his sister Doris McClintock of Virginia. He is survived by: his children, Dale Allen Byrd (Lois), Nancy Catherine Mitchell (Michael), Robert Bryce Byrd (Stacey) and Elaine Susan Irwin (Willy); and his sisters, Lessie Pauline Gallette and Teresa Ann Zinchiak. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren, one great, great grandchild.

Due to Covid -19, memorial services will be private at this time.
