We are sad to announce that on January 14, 2024, at the age of 69, Merritt James Monroe of Chico, California passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Irene Monroe and James Monroe; and his sister Marcie Monroe (Patton). He is survived by: his wife Noretta Monroe; and his brother Jerry Monroe.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Merritt's honor to the American Cancer Society or any institution researching brain cancer, specifically advanced treatments for glioblastoma multiforme.
