It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Newton Liden (Chico, California), born in Inglewood, California, who passed away on March 21, 2020, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Francis Frederick Watson and Florence Effie Gustin; and her siblings, Earl, Fritz Watson, Hazel Thompson and Juanita Bechhold.
She is survived by: her former husband Robert E. Newton; her spouse Pastor A. J. Liden; her children, Teri Williams (Rex), Nancy Helzer (Dave), Ric Newton (Colene) and Rob Newton (Jeanne); and her sister Fran Shelton-Houghton (Brooks). She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Neighborhood Church of Chico memorial fund in care of the funeral home.
