He is survived by: his children, José Avila (Maria) of Ceres, Antonio Eduardo Gomes Avila (Maria Arlete) of São Jorge and Maria Filomena Oliveira (José Leodegario) of São Jorge; and his siblings, Eduino Avila and Clarinda Cabral of São Jorge.
