She was predeceased by: her parents, James E. Strickland and Elinor Kate Hines Strickland; and her siblings, Robert L. Strickland, Juliette Dawson and Flora J. Wilson.
She is survived by: her children, Richard, Michael (Sherri), Rhonda, Chandra and Joe Jr. (Ty); her sister Carolyn Hogan of Conley; her brother-in-law Lawrence Dawson of Stockton; and her close friend Linnie Dean of California. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
