He was predeceased by: his parents, Gyula Janko and Márta Janko (Mikoss); his siblings, Gyula and Márta Janko Mamusich; and his grandson Alden Curtis Janko.

He is survived by: his wife Abigail Mead Janko; his children, Julia Wong (Brad), Isabelle Murphy (John) and Alexander Janko (Laura Goodenow); his siblings, Marika Janko Hajas and András "Bandi" Janko; his grandchildren, Chandler, Matthew, George and Alexa; and his friend Dr. Janko. He is also survived by 6 nieces, 4 nephews, 12 grandnieces, 6 grandnephews and 1 great-grandnephew.
