He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Torykian and Dora Torykian. He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou; his sons, Richard Jr. (Dana), Eric (Juliet) and Jim; and his grandchildren, Alexis, Trey, Carleigh, Luke, Will, John and Elle.

A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. James Catholic Church (625 S Nardo Ave, Solana Beach, CA 92075). A burial was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 2:15 PM at the Miramar National Cemetery (5795 Nobel Dr, San Diego, CA 92122).
