He was predeceased by: his parents, Vera and George; and his siblings, Matthew, Frank and Loretta Szychowski.

He is survived by: his siblings, Ben Casalegno (Dorothy) and Lucille Mogaard; his sister-in-law Ida Hentschel; his daughters, Jane Kotila (Rick), Cathy Casalegno (Margaret Theisen), Jeanne Viglienzoni (Dave) and Angela Chandler (Richard); his grandchildren, Matt Kotila (Marissa), Nate Kotila (Arwen Steinacker), Jake Kotila (Monica), Joe, Catherine, Krista Viglienzoni and Sean Chandler (Karen); and his great grandchildren, Wyatt, Creedance and Astrid.
