He was predeceased by: his parents, Alta Maxwell of Virginia and Alfred LeRoy Maxwell; and his pet Toby. He is survived by: his wife Linda Maxwell; his children, Robert Maxwell, Sherry Chedsey, Gregory Maxwell, Jeanette Broyles, Tracey McCollum and Dennis Maxwell, Jr.; and his sisters, Denise (Richard) and Joyce (Clyde). He is also survived by his many, many great-grandchildren.
