He is survived by: his wife Lynne of Brea; his children, Laine of Brea and Jacqueline Shapiro Montoya (Steve); his grandsons, Esteban III and Cruz Montoya of Chapelle; his siblings, Rhoda Shapiro Markowitz (Theodore Markowitz) of Brea and Sheldon Shapiro of Medford; his nephew Brian Markowitz (Lynn) of Fort Mojave, AZ; and his niece Melanie Markowitz Totenbier (Joe) of Allentown, Pennsylvania..
He was incredibly involved with the Placentia PD K-9 Officers Foundation.
