He is survived by: his wife Amparo Contreras; his children, Thomas Contreras Jr., Adela Encinas (Jimmy), Valentin Contreras (Sophia), Nancy Tapia, Gabriel Contreras and Denise Cabanilla (John); and his siblings, Connie Chavez, Maggie Valenzuela, Betty Morgan, Lina Tapia, Abraham Tapia, Marcus Tapia and Joseph Tapia. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
