He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph C. Salvatierra (Valerie Nenigar) and Mary Salvatierra; his son James A. Salvatierra; and his sister Betty Eberling. He is survived by: his children, Aundra, Saundra Frazier, Chad Salvatierra, Mathew Salvatierra, Jessica Salvatierra, Brittney Salvatierra (David) and Jennifer Nenigar; and his siblings, Linda Sanchez (Junior), Denise Salvatierra, Danette Spivey (Robert) and Donnie White. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
