She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Elmer James Yates and Lucille B. McLaughlin; her husband Michael John Lindervall; her daughter Lyndsay Lucille Lawrence (Christopher); and her siblings, Jim Yates (Sue), Steve Yates, Judy Anderson (Richard) and Pamela Yates. She was also cherished by many nieces and nephews and cousins.

As Dusty Roads, she created a nonprofit animal shelter, run on donations and her own spending.
