It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Rich A. Hevener of Benicia, California, born in Sacramento, California, who passed away on April 8, 2022, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Jeannie Hevener; and his daughters, Gretchen Herzog and Heidi Cooper. He is survived by: his children, Dirk Herzog (Carol), Richard Hevener Jr. (Clementina), Shawn Hevener (Michele) and Shannon Taggart; his son-in-law Chris Cooper; his brother Ron Hevener; and his pet Angus. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 7 (and one on the way) great grandchildren.

“Uncle Richard was a good man. My brother and I have fond memories of visiting him and our cousins in Benicia or Walnut Creek. Those were good times for me. Uncle Richard always welcomed us with a warm smile, made us feel at home, and always made the long car drive from Orange County seem worth it. As a kid, I remember thinking Uncle Richard was as tall as a Redwood tree, but a gentle giant. I’ll miss Uncle Richard, but cherish the times I had with him. With all my love - Barron Lane”
