He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Scruggs and Joan Starkey Scruggs; and his stepfather Andy Scruggs. He is survived by: his wife Laura Lynn Starkey; his children, Daniel E. Starkey II and Courtney Starkey; his grandson Reilly Favalora; his daughter Haydee Brazeal; his brother Chuck Starkey; his sister-in-law Tammy; and his former wife Trisha Kelly. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family prefers donations to the Wounded Warriors Project.
