He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Merrill and Alvina Merrill (Trettel); and his sisters, Linda Luoma and Wendy Vashahi. He is survived by: his sisters, Tina Mattson and Debra Prebarich; his former wife Constance Ekholm; his daughter Heather Merrill; and his grandchildren, Austin and Cassandra. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
