He was predeceased by: his father Francisco Ortega; his wife Isaura Ortega; his son Santiago Ortega Jr.; his mother Maria Carrera Ortega; and his brother Guadalupe Ortega.
He is survived by: his children, Elizabeth, Reyna, Paul, Kenneth, Jose and Epifanio; and his sisters, Juanita, Clara, Maria and Francisca. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren and many other friends and family.
