He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Henning; his children, Sandra Higgins, Alexander, Virginia and Raymond E Karpe; his grandson John Z; and his sons, Robert Kenneth Karpe and Adam Jacob Karpe. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
