With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard Hernandez (Bakersfield, California), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 18, 2025 at the age of 72. As Richard departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Richard may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Richard leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Neomi Szabo and Rafael Hernandez. He is survived by: his sister Lorraine DeAnda; his children, Mark Hernandez (Raquel), Richard Hernandez Jr. and Sandra Jaquez (Gary); his grandchildren, Marina Olivera (Michael), Markie Hernandez and Jacob Hernandez; and his great grandchildren, Savannah Olivera, Lauren Olivera and Nora Olivera. He is also survived by several nephews, nieces and godchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Greenlawn Memorial Park Northeast (3700 River Blvd, Bakersfield, CA 93305).
