He was predeceased by: his wife Catherine; his parents, Lawrence Craig Armstrong and Doris Irene; his son William Armstrong; his brother John Armstrong; and his son-in-law Richard Sarti.
He is survived by: his children, Susan Sarti Kate Harrington (late Richard), Laurie Duffy (David), Vickie Smith (Joshua) and Jeffrey Armstrong (Christy); his grandchildren, Valerie, Andrew, Laura, Lydia, Samuel, Rachel and Daniel; his great grandchildren, Violet and Daisy; and his sister Sandra MacHugh of New Zealand. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
