He was predeceased by: his parents, Arney Lassila and Mary Alyce Lassila; his wife Mary Garske; his brothers, Joe, Phil and David; and his granddaughter Mika Belle.
He is survived by: his close friend Linda Johnson of Applegate; his sister Mary Gray (Gary) of Palo Alto; his children, Maria Lassila of Omak, Shawn Lassila of Pasco, Amy Lassila (Andrew Pottenger) of Seattle, Arne Lassila of Omak and John Lassila (Lorraine) of Omak; his daughter-in-law Lori Merritt of Omak; and his grandchildren, Jove, Carly and Bishop.
