He was predeceased by: his brother Thomas Kirby. He is survived by: his son John Kirby III; his wife Shonda of Pauls Valley; his brothers, William Kirby of Auburn, Steven Kirby of Manhattan Beach and Robert Kirby of Malibu; his grandchildren, Caleb Kirby, Reese Kirby, Jude Kirby, Alexia Kirby and Austin Kirby; and also, Matthew Kirby (Amy) of Parker and Brent Kirby (Brianna) of Prosper.
