With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Janice Christie Bailey of Auburn, California, born in Hardwick, Vermont, who passed away on February 17, 2022 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Byron W. Bailey and Janie L. Bailey of Auburn. She is survived by: her brother Byron W. Bailey, Jr. (Bing); her sister-in-law Sharon of Phoenix, AZ; and her nephews, Matthew Bailey (Kelly) of Phoenix, AZ and Andrew Bailey of Brooklyn, NY..

She became Chairman in May, 1991 and remained so until the pandemic of 2020 hit and closed down the book sales.

“Janice Bailey lived with my family her last two years in high school at Bradford Academy in Bradford, Vermont. She went on to the University of Vermont where she excelled in competitive skiing and golf. Following college she was golf champion in Hanover, NH, as visited our family often. She was a great favorite amongst the 5 Palmer brothers and sister and with our folks.”
