He was predeceased by: his wife Rosanne Schacher; his son-in-law Touby Ly; his siblings, Arthur Schacher, Thomas Schacher, Gerald Schacher and Ruthie Ingle; and his grandchild Christian Ly.

He is survived by: his children, Richard "Rick" Schacher (Heidi) and Jennifer Ly; his grandchildren, Lucas Schacher (Joylene), Trever Schacher (Christiana), Brennan Ly (Ana) and Masen Ly; and his great grandchildren, Adonis Schacher, Amarus Schacher, Talia Rosanne Schacher and Alyss Jade Ly.
