He was predeceased by: his parents, Evelyn Zanders and Dana Zanders. He is survived by: his son Cliff; his wife Marjorie Zanders; his daughters, Yvonne McCarthy (Kevin) and Michelle Gray (Late-Stephan); his grandchildren, Brittany McCarthy (Chong Lee), Landess Sherrer (Cameron), Isaiah Gray (Cynthia Duran) and Cameron Gray (Tuff Carpenter); and his great grandchildren, Cannon and Callen Sherrer.
In place of flowers, donations can be made to Howard's favorite charities in his honor. The California Peace Officers Memorial Foundation Fallen Officers children's scholarship fund or Concerns of Police Survivors.
