He was predeceased by: his father Andres Hernandez; his former wife Dolores Miranda Hernandez; his son Edmundo Hernandez, Jr.; and his brothers, Manuel Hernandez and Roberto Hernandez.

He is survived by: his children, Nicky Hernandez, Andres Hernandez and Penny Hernandez; and his grandson Raul S. Perez, Jr.. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grand children.
