She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Darin; her sons, Nathaniel, Luke and Mark; her mother Deanna; her brothers, John, Mark and Clayton; her sisters-in-law, Celia, Valerie and Julie; her parents-in-law, Daryl and Susan Hansen; her sister Heidi; her brother-in-law Justin Miller; and her father Mark.

In July 2020, with a world consumed by COVID-19, masks and social distancing, Laura was informed that she had cancer.
