He is survived by: his parents, Darrel Sedgwick and Grace Sedgwick (McAllister); his wife Shirley Diantha Sedgwick; his sons, David, Michael (Jackie Sedgwick) and Paul (Diane Marchioni); his grandchildren, Ben Sedgwick of Pittsburg, Tara Valkavitch (Gary Valkavitch) of Pittsburg, Maggie Sedgwick of Pittsburg, Marrok Sedgwick, Krista Sedgwick of California, Charlotte Sedgwick, Virginia Sedgwick and Adam Sedgwick of Boston; and his great grandchildren, Braya and Adley Mae Valkovitch of Pittsburg. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and loving friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charles' name to the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine "Wildlife Program.".
