“Very sorry to hear Richard passed away. We knew each other very well going back to meeting at the Haste Street apartments. when we were 25. Our romantic love affair was off and on again for 30 years due in large part to my working in New York, Los Angeles and Switzerland. Richard had the most terrific sense of humor and the best taste in literature. Some of the greatest books I've read came from his recommendations. The late Spanish/Basque author Javier Marias reminds me of Richard.”
