He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Slatten and Helga Slatten; and his brother Robert Slatten (Carol Slatten). He is survived by: his wife Carol Slatten (Clark) of Knightsen, CA; his children, Emily Slatten (George Stewart) and Charles Slatten; his grandchildren, Dana Miller and Eric Slatten; his brother Tom Slatten; and his sister-in-law Jackie Slatten. He is also survived by several great grandchildren, a great grandson, nieces and nephews.
