She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Halsey Moore and Phoebe Moore (Johnstone); her husband Arthur L. Hughes; her daughters, Jocelyn Mathis (Patrick) and Jennifer Hughes; her grandchildren, Christopher Mathis and Katherine Thompson (C. J.); her nephews, Andrew Moore and Matthew Moore; her sister-in-law Margie Moore; and her siblings, Helen Moore and Robert "Bob" Moore.

When COVID hit in 2020, she was able to "isolate" with Jocelyn's family and later with Jennifer.

Janet was a staunch partner, care giver, and advocate, fighting alongside Jim in his battle with Alzheimer's.
