“I remember Melinda Steep as ... a bookworm ... my geeky friend, since 3rd grade ... We played Jacks on the playground floor of Bradoaks Elementary School ... back then, her generous father took us to see a live production of HAPPY DAYS in Hollywood ... in our adolescence, while at Clifton Middle School, we talked about boys and diets ... later, we hung out on the library wall during our lunch hours at Monrovia High School ... After graduation, beloved Melinda honored me by becoming a most cherished bridesmaid in my wedding ... You were such a beautiful and loveable soul, Melinda! Good night, good night ... a thousand times good night ... Parting is such sweet sorrow; I bid thee adieu until the ‘morrow! Whilst Heaven welcomes its loveliest and most precious angel, I shall, indeed, miss you, dear friend. Love always, Francina L. Bailey”
