Diana Whitener Obituary
Diana Whitener, resident of Alta Loma, California, passed away on May 7, 2019 at the age of 86. Diana was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 14, 1933 to Charles and Mary Mione.
After graduating from Lafayette High School in Brooklyn, Diana went on to be a successful bookkeeper with Irving Trust based in New York City.
In 1956 Diana moved with her family to Southern California. Soon after arriving in California she was hired by Bank of America to be one of their bookkeepers and continued working for them for two years.
A few months after settling into Southern California she met the love of her life, George Whitener through mutual friends. They married 10 months later on November 10, 1956. This year would have marked their 63rd wedding anniversary.
A couple years after Diana and George were married, they welcomed the birth of their first child Deborah. Eighteen months later they were blessed with their son Dean. Diana was a devoted mother and raised her children with love, support and compassion.
Diana enjoyed traveling with her husband and together they journeyed throughout the U.S. by motor home for over 20 years. They also enjoyed visiting Europe, China, Mexico and Russia. Diana loved to cook and entertain and she was at her happiest when she had people in her home enjoying her amazing dishes.
Christmas was a special time for Diana and she loved adorning both the inside and outside of her home with festive holiday decorations. People from miles around would drive to see and admire the beautiful holiday trimmings.
Diana is survived by her husband George Whitener, daughter Deborah Mahon, her son in law Bill Mahon and her son Dean Whitener.
Diana was deeply loved and will be missed by all.
