“Phill and I go back to the Oakland Tribune days 1969. He was an honored member of my wedding in 71. Phill has always been a friend and inspiration through the years. “I worked with Phil for 7 years while at the Oakland Tribune. He was a member of the Tribune Go-Getters for many years after his retirement. When my wife and traveled to our reunions Phil would come pick us up at the motel the night before and we would go to Doc C rolls for dinner in Alameda. We have great fond memories of Phil going back to the old days. Phil will be missed by all who knew him. Our condolences go out to all his friends and family.”
