Gerry also opened, Hand to Hand Foundation and Mena Freight a store to provide commodities to low income people and families in the community.

“To the Sickler family, I am very saddened to hear of the passing of Gerry. Although it has been almost 40 years since I last saw him he is still a vivid part of my childhood memory. I believe I may have spent more time in the Sickler home than my own from age 6 to 14. I remember that Gerry was always very kind to me. My fondest memories are of staying in the cabin in Big Bear on ski trips. I was not surprised to hear that he became a minister. All my sympathies to Brien and Gary. Paul McDaniel”
