“Such GREAT sadness to hear about the passing of my good friend, “Willie” Stewart. Originally from Jamaica, Willie was incremental bringing soccer to YUMA. The early years of Yuma Youth Soccer were formulated with 1,500 youth, a men’s league and one ladies team, known as the “Goal Diggers”. Willie Stewart was an ICONIC leader in the soccer community. He brought people of all walks of life together, “for the good of soccer - for the love of soccer”. He will be missed FOREVER.”
