He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerome Lee Jr. and Theoda P. Corin Lee; his wife Irene Alice Autrand Lee; and his siblings, Robert E. Lee and Geraldine Mitchell.

He is survived by: his children, Becky Hughes (Dallas) of Yuma Arizona and J. Craig Lee (Cathy) of Yakima, WA; his grandchildren, Amy Lee Hobert, Dallas Roy Hughes of Wasilla Alaska and Gretchin Peterson-Lee of Yakima; and his great grandchildren, Kaylani Jade Hughes of Federal Way, WA, Dallas R. Hughes of Wasilla, AK, Ashley L. Hughes of Wasilla, AK, Miller Lee Hughes of Wasilla, AK, Charlotte D. Hughes of Wasilla, AK and Brady Peterson.

After he got COVID on Christmas 2023 his health began to decline and he moved into a skilled nursing facility until his death.
