He was predeceased by: his siblings, Glen "Buster" Merrill, Perry "Buck" Merrill, Dee J Merrill, Edgar Merrill, Lona Merrill, Grant Merrill and Ned Merrill; and his parents, Hubert Merrill and Zena Merrill Elmore.

He is survived by: his wife Diane; his children, Charlotte Merrill (Priscilla), Kimberly Merrill, Sandy Boyce (Kelly) and Henry Merrill (Baby); his grandchildren, Olivia, Jagger, Mia, Nick, Kassandra, Katherine, Andrew, Grace, Leona and Sarah; his great grandchildren, Adda, Issac and Lucy; and his siblings, Zola Merrill Whiting, David Elmore and Karen Sue Elmore Parker.
