She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Elbert Lorenz Cassell and Geneva Winifred Cassell (Lawrence); her brother James Cassell (Judith) of Berwyn, Pennsylvania; her former husband Peter Van Note of Louisville; and her daughters, Patricia Anne Rivers (Chris), Joan Britt of Louisville, Kate Thayer (Bill) and Ellen Samuelsen (Rob) of Vail, Arizona. She was also cherished by 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Baxter Springs Heritage Center and Museum, 740 East Avenue, Baxter Springs, Kansas 66713.
