He is survived by: his wife Jeanette (Jean); his children, Stephen Fast (Jennifer Bierly), Kathryn Fast Cooper (Curt Cooper) and Kaylynn Ann Fast Collins (Jesse Collins); his stepdaughters, Jenny Anderson (Tucson) and Melanie Morgan (David Morgan); his grandchildren, Amanda Cooper Preto (Illinois), Robert Cooper (Michigan), Sarah (Massachusetts), Corrine, Robert Fast (Pennsylvania), Catherine, Kristin Anderson (Illinois) and Hazel Morgan (Tucson); his great grandchildren, Jessica Snider (Michigan), Rocco, River, Onyx Preto (Illinois), Noah and Chloe Hales; and his sister Janice Fast (Maureen Ferrell).
Ron was awarded the Samuel C. Collins Award for outstanding contributions to cryogenic technology by the Cryogenic Engineering Conference.
