He was predeceased by: his parents, Florencio Encinas Sotomayor and Amelia Ortega Sotomayor; and his siblings, Dora Salcido, Alice Sutherland and Ernest Sotomayor.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Lara; his children, Ramon "Ray" Sotomayor, Christopher Sotomayor, Suzanne Corral (Dennis) and Lucia Marie Deyo (Ethan); his grandchildren, Vianey "Billy" Peralta (Vanessa) and Minette Suzanne Peralta; his great grandchildren, Ruben Peralta, Janae Peralta, Frankie Quiroz, Nathaniel Quiroz, Jakob Quiroz, Tommy Quiroz and Jace Quiroz; and his brother Frank Sotomayor. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Carrillo's Tucson Mortuary (South Chapel) (240 S Stone Ave, Tucson, AZ 85701). A rosary was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A celebration of life was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Fatima Church (1950 Irvington Pl, Tucson, AZ 85746). A burial was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Holy Hope Cemetery (3555 N Oracle Rd, Tucson, AZ 85705).
