He was predeceased by: his parents, Henderson Gantt and Zeola Gantt; his stepfather Andrew Govan (AZ); his siblings, William "Sonny" Gantt (AR), Roberta Harris, May Belle Thomas and Alice "Faye" Brown (AZ); his former wife Shirley Maxine Cook (NV); and his sons, Raymond and Rayford Gantt (AZ).
He is survived by: his wife Erma Gantt; his sisters, Joyce Clayton, Betty Bradford (Earnest) and Mary Davis; and his children, Michael (Vicky), Jacquline Phillips, Anthony (Betty), Stephanie (Charles), Long (NV), Marshall (Latisha), Kevin (Viola) and Desmond (AZ). He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
