He is survived by: his wife Dr. Barbara Inselman; his children, Joshua Temkin (Melissa) of Bethesda and Dr. Deborah Temkin Cahill (Bryan) of Chevy Chase; and his grandchildren, Rachel Temkin, Jeremy Temkin and Helen Cahill. He is also survived by his family, many friends.

“Barbara and Larry's family. Though we took separate paths to get here, we all wound up in Tucson AZ. We went to Cunningham JHS and Lincoln HS, but that's where paths diverged. Barbara may remember twe lived one block apart from each other in a direct line from E 11th street to E. 12th street. I remember Larry carrying his trumpet to school. After HS, you two kept up with your pursuits of higher education while I pursued a career as a musician. Space limits me here. My condolences.”
