He was predeceased by: his parents, James T. Hayes and Irene J. Hayes; his wife Lucille Blazejewski; his daughter Sally Anne Kinsey; and his siblings, Richard Hayes, Charles Hayes, James Hayes and Jean Morabito.
He is survived by: his children, Thomas P. Hayes of Tucson, Timothy J. Hayes of Tucson, Adrienne Strom (Bill) of Vail, Alicia Hayes of Vail and John Hayes, Jr. (Pam) of Vail; his brother Gerald Hayes of New York; and his sister-in-law Margaret Hayes of Virginia. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
