It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Seal Spofford of Tucson, Arizona, who passed away on June 24, 2024, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid adieu to Joan Seal's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Joan Seal has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Luther Warfield Seal and Rose Reecher Seal; her husband James "Jim" Spofford; her son Reverend James F. Spofford; and her sisters, Janet Wilson and Lois Main.

She is survived by : her daughter Linda Spofford Harris (Hank) of Atlanta; her grandchildren, Helen Harris Waddell (Emery) of Atlanta, Carolyn Harris Portwood (Henry) of New York City and Henry Bullard Harris IV of Boston, MA; and her great grandchildren, Harris, Mills Waddell of Atlanta and Helen Portwood.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 8th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Rest Haven Funeral Home (1601 Pennsylvania Ave, Hagerstown, MD 21742).
